Poet Tucson, Arizona 2014 Stainless Steel, LEDs 6’ x 5’ x 6.5’ One of three components of our Tucson’s Modern Streetcar Project. A sculpture depicting a local poet’s head blowing letters into a LED reader boards box starting the flow of poetry to scrolling LED boards at each streetcar stop, continually provided by the UofA Poetry Center. Hundreds of laser-cut stainless-steel letters (the size and style of refrigerator letter magnets) were welded together from inside of a hydrocal mold to create a perforated “skin”. It is illuminated from within with a cobalt blue LED’s.
